Your co-trainers

Taught by people
who've built it themselves

Both trainers are working florists and entrepreneurs — everything they teach comes from real experience running a floristry business in Singapore, not a textbook.

Sarah Ching — Flowers by Terra founder and WSQ trainer
Sarah Ching
Founder, Flowers by Terra · WSQ Certified Co-Trainer

A decade ago, Sarah left a career in banking to follow her instinct for beauty and craft. What followed was a rigorous global education in floral design — training under Catherine Muller in Paris, Judith Blacklock in London, Wagner Kreusch in Portugal, and Lee Ju Yeon at Vaness Flowers in Korea. That foundation shaped a distinctive aesthetic rooted in nature's seasons: arrangements that move the way wildflowers do, spontaneous and alive.

Today Sarah leads Flowers by Terra, teaches under the SSG programme, and has shared her craft with thousands of students across Singapore and internationally. She designed this WSQ curriculum herself — which means every hour of this course reflects what she knows actually works, not what looks good on a syllabus.

"This course teaches what I wish someone had taught me when I was starting out — not just how to make beautiful arrangements, but how to price them, plan around them, and build a business that actually sustains itself. Everything in this course comes from doing it, not just studying it."

Joanne Chia — WSQ co-trainer Flowers by Terra Singapore
Joanne Chia
WSQ Certified Co-Trainer

Joanne came to floristry in 2020 — and built her footing quickly, moving from online retail into training and events within a few years. Her background in events and exhibitions gives her a practical, production-minded approach to floral work: she understands timelines, logistics, and what it takes to deliver under pressure.

Now working as a freelancer across both the floristry and events industries, Joanne brings a grounded, real-world perspective to this course. She knows what it takes to go from a first arrangement to a paying client — and that's exactly what she helps students figure out.

Common questions

Everything you need to know
before registering

How do I use my SkillsFuture Credits to pay?
After registration, we guide you through claiming via the MySkillsFuture portal at myskillsfuture.gov.sg. Search by course reference TGS-2026061360, submit your claim, and your credits apply directly to the fee. You only pay the nett subsidised amount — we walk you through every step after your spot is confirmed.
Is the WSQ Statement of Attainment nationally recognised?
Yes — WSQ credentials are issued under the SkillsFuture Singapore framework and are nationally recognised. The SOA demonstrates formally accredited competency in strategic product development. It is awarded only upon successful completion — min 75% attendance and passing all assessments.
I have no floristry experience. Can I still enrol?
Yes — no prior experience is required. The minimum entry requirement is Workplace Literacy and Numeracy (WPLN) Level 4 or GCE N Levels, plus basic computing literacy. The course takes you from enthusiasm to equipped, across 18 hours of hands-on and strategy sessions.
Why is the class capped at 8 students?
Deliberately small so every student gets direct, personalised guidance from trainer — not a lecture-theatre experience. With a maximum of 8 students, our trainers can work closely with each person on their specific product concepts, designs, and business plans throughout all three sessions.
Am I eligible for the $277.50 SME-sponsored rate?
The SME-sponsored rate applies when your course is fully funded by a qualifying SME employer. You must be a Singapore Citizen above 40, or your employer must meet SSG's SME eligibility criteria. Many businesses in F&B, retail, and creative industries qualify — we can help you check when you register.
What happens if I don't pass the assessment?
The full course fee of $925 is payable and the subsidy does not apply. Course fees are non-refundable once the class commences. The assessments test practical competency — what you've made and learned across three sessions — not abstract theory. Full engagement throughout all sessions is the best preparation.
Can I use PSEA to pay?
Yes — this course is PSEA eligible. Your Post-Secondary Education Account balance can be used toward the nett fee after subsidy. Particularly useful for learners aged 21–30 who may have an active PSEA balance. Contact us after registering and we'll advise on the claim process.
What do I need to bring?
Just yourself and something to write with. All flowers, tools, vessels, materials, and packaging are provided. Wear comfortable clothes with covered shoes — you'll be working with flowers, water, and occasionally pollen. We handle everything else.
