Programme structure

Three phases.
One complete business.

The programme is structured as a progressive journey — each phase builds directly on the last, so by day 8 you are not just a better florist, you are an equipped business owner.

01
Phase 1 · Days 1–2
Business & Market
Foundations
Days 1 – 2

Before you make anything, understand the market you're building for.

You begin by developing a strong commercial foundation — the thinking that separates a florist running a business from one simply making beautiful things.

  • Map your customer segments and identify real market needs
  • Define a compelling value proposition for your floral business
  • Understand sustainability as a commercial and operational consideration
  • Apply entrepreneurial thinking to floristry as a profession, not just a craft
  • Build the strategic foundation your product and event work will sit on
💡 Perfect for those who see floristry as a business — not just a creative pursuit.
02
Phase 2 · Days 3–5
Product Creation &
Commercial Readiness
Days 3 – 5

Develop, cost, prototype, and refine floral products the market will actually buy.

You move from market thinking into product-making — creating three commercial floral products while building the business frameworks around each one.

  • Analyse customer needs and identify real product opportunities
  • Develop clear product specifications for retail and gifting
  • Perform cost-benefit analysis and price for profit — not just cost recovery
  • Prototype and refine products using real flowers and real feedback
  • Visit flower wholesalers — learn to source, select, and negotiate
  • Create a Premium Wrapped Bouquet, Compote Arrangement, and Tall Vase Arrangement
  • Find your style and launch a sellable product range you can take to market immediately
🌸 You leave Phase 2 with three finished, sellable floral products and a costed product range ready to launch.
03
Phase 3 · Days 6–8
Event Planning &
Live Execution
Days 6 – 8

Plan a real event. Then go build it.

In the final phase you apply everything to event scale — developing a full event concept, coordinating the installation, and on the final day, bringing it to life.

  • Develop event concepts aligned with trends, sustainability, and venue requirements
  • Plan installation operations, timelines, and resource coordination
  • Manage live execution and respond to on-site changes in real time
  • Participate in the hands-on setup and execution of an event floral installation
  • Receive high-quality photographs of your work for your professional portfolio
🎯 This phase builds confidence in real-world execution — not just planning on paper.
Learn it. Make it. Keep it.

Three products you create
and bring home.

These aren't practice pieces. Every product is designed for the real retail market — costed, priced, and finished to the standard you'd sell from day one.

Premium wrapped bouquet — dark purple hydrangeas and calla lilies, Korean-influenced hand-tied style
Premium Wrapped Bouquet

Korean-influenced hand-tied bouquet using 10+ premium seasonal varieties. The highest-volume product in retail floristry.

Bestseller product type Phase 2
Compote arrangement — Korean garden style, low wide structured design for gifting and dining tables
Compote Arrangement

A structured, low wide arrangement designed for gifting, dining tables, and gifting retail. High perceived value, repeatable production.

Gifting & retail Phase 2
Victorian vase arrangement — foam-free tall statement piece for corporate lobbies and event reception tables
Victorian Vase Arrangement

A statement-height installation piece suited to corporate lobbies, event reception tables, and premium retail gifting.

Events & corporate Phase 2
What you will be able to do

Six outcomes across
all eight days.

04
Manage suppliers, logistics, and operational workflows — source confidently and build reliable supply relationships
05
Plan and execute an event floral installation safely and professionally — from brief to breakdown
06
Evaluate performance and identify improvements — close the loop on every project so your business gets better each time

Sarah Ching — Flowers by Terra founder and trainer
Sarah Ching
Founder, Flowers by Terra · Lead Trainer

A decade ago, Sarah left a career in banking to follow her instinct for beauty and craft. What followed was a rigorous global education in floral design — training under Catherine Muller in Paris, Judith Blacklock in London, Wagner Kreusch in Portugal, and Lee Ju Yeon at Vaness Flowers in Korea. That foundation shaped a distinctive aesthetic rooted in nature's seasons: arrangements that move the way wildflowers do, spontaneous and alive.

Today Sarah leads Flowers by Terra, teaches under the SSG programme, and has shared her craft with thousands of students across Singapore and internationally. The Build & Bloom curriculum is designed entirely by Sarah — which means every hour of this programme reflects what she knows actually works in a real floristry business, not what looks good on a syllabus.

"This programme teaches what I wish someone had taught me when I was starting out — not just how to make beautiful arrangements, but how to price them, plan around them, and build a business that actually sustains itself. Everything here comes from doing it, not just studying it."
